Chronic mental disorders worldwide

Approximately 970 million people worldwide, or about 1 in every 8 people, live with a mental disorder ¹. This number includes various chronic mental health conditions, such as:

- *Anxiety Disorders*: 301 million people, with 58 million being children and adolescents ¹
- *Depressive Disorders*: 280 million people, with 23 million being children and adolescents ¹
- *Bipolar Disorder*: 40 million people ¹
- *Schizophrenia*: 24 million people, or about 1 in 300 people worldwide ¹
- *Eating Disorders*: 14 million people, with almost 3 million being children and adolescents ¹

It's essential to note that these numbers are likely underestimates, as many cases go unreported or undiagnosed. Additionally, people with chronic mental health conditions often face increased risks of developing other chronic diseases, such as heart disease, diabetes, and obesity ² ³.
